Hyrna Herborg an Icelandid Shawl
She is finished and I love her!
The pattern is in Three-Cornered and Long Shawls pattern book by Sigrídur Halldórsdóttir available from Schoolhouse Press. It has been translated into English but the translation is on the "short end". Jackie from Heartstrings has a complete annotation to the pattern.
The book is a bit pricy but well worth the beauty.
Once you figure it out, it is easy knit.
It took me about 12 hours of knitting time plus 6 hours of redoing almost half of the shawl because I managed to shift the center!
It is still wet and with pins on, the ends have been woven in but not cut yet. I am so in love I could not wait!
Oh and I forgot!
Thanks Lorette for reminding me! I used DMC Cebelia #20. Addi Lace Needles US 3. I think it worked out just fine. I used a bit less than a ball. Right on the button with what the pattern says about 400+ yds.

Beautiful! Thanks for reaffirming my decision to finally buy that book... :)
Very, very pretty. HH might be my next knit from that book...if I ever finish Joho. ;-)
It's gorgeous! I love these shawls. Makes me wish I was a lace knitter.
It's beautiful and you are a fast knitter!
Wow that's gorgeous! Nice work.
That is so lovely! Are you happy with the Cebelia thread? I have to say, it looks nothing like ANY doily I've ever seen.
The shawl is gorgeous. I'll have to add that book to my every growing list.
Oooooooooooh. That is just so lovely!
Very beautiful!!
That book is calling to me, but I must make myself finish a few lace projects before purchasing more temptation. :-)
Laritza, that is gorgeous! Congratulations.
Just gorgeous! I'll never knit lace but I sure do admire those that do.
12 HOURS!!!!!!! What? Did you sell your soul to the knitting goddess? That is an amazing shawl. You rock my lace world!
Oh, your shawl is just marvelous. I bought the book - waited for the translation and then I didn't knit it.
Now, seeing yours, I really need to do that. I loved Jackie's and I love you. Oh, is there anyway one can get on your Xmas list?

Laritza, it's beautiful!!! Lovely work. I have the book, I have the yarn, I have the needles -- I just need to move it up to the top of the list!!!
Laritza, it's beautiful! Lovely work. I have the book, I have the yarn, I have the needles - I just need to move this one up on the list of shawls to do!
That is truly beautiful to behold! I bet it will look fantastic draped over your shoulders. That one is on my list but I'm not sure what I'm going to use to knit it with yet. I have tons of Cebelia for tatting hmmmm.
Lovely, lovely! Your shawl is prettier than the one in the book.
Quite lovely, and an amazingly fast knit. The thread works out fine. She is on my lifelist of future knits.
It is beautiful! My DH bought me the book for my birthday last year as I fell in love with a picture of this shawl - but I have been frightened to take the plunge! I am practising on some other things - that are taking my much, much longer than 12 days, how on earth did you do it in 12 hours?
so pleased that you are so thrilled with it, I'm not surprised!
