I have always been a good reader. Started out at 7 yo with Charlotte's Web, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the Little Princess and the like. I do not recall a time in my life when I did not have a book to read aside from college books. This has continued over the years. When I came to the USA that many years ago, I found out about audiobooks. Although I knew English, I needed to strengthen my vocabulary and correct pronunciation. NPR did it for a while but audiobooks soon took over. Now with Netlibrary, Overdrive and little portable players even more so. I go through 2-3 books a week depending on the length. Needless to say, I have an array of favorite authors and categories misteries, historical novels, detective stories. Ravelry Audiobook Knitters, friends and coworkers are great sources for recommendations. Book lists of the read and to read and available where are shared and passed along. For a long time I have been wanting to start on this blog mini-reviews of what I read, of course that has not happened. Lets see if I can stick to it now.
Today I finished Train to Trieste by Dominica Radulesco. The story of a Romanian woman who came to the USA as a refugee, her life in Chicago and her trip back to Romania 20 years later to discover realities of her past life well hidden to her. A great book one of those that makes you wonder how much is fiction and how is reality. One of those books that you start and do not put down until you finish.
Vince Flynn is a big time favorite, his last book Extreme Measures is probably one of the best if that can be a point of comparison.
Water for Elephants by Sarah Gruen will have you laughing and crying all at the same time. If you are an animal lover even more.
Those for now, waiting to be read/listened to is David Baldacci's last one out The Whole Truth. It promises to be just as good as the previous ones.

I've started listening to audio books too:-) I like fiction once I run out of NPR to listen to.
I forgot to tell you - thanks to your help, I ended up getting a Creative Zen a couple of weeks ago. It's been great! I've already gotten some books from Overdrive, Netlibrary, and Librivox.
My husband liked it so much he ordered one for himself, though he's really just interested in it for music and movies.
