23 cent fix

Community wisdom works wonders. I love yahoo lists!
I have no problems with the floor loom. Everything on it works like a dream. The table loom is another story, the brake is fiddly, the cords on the beams form huge knots and finding the proper material for packing the warp had always been a nightmare. Nothing I tried had worked and the warp kept warping therefore sooner or later I would end up having tension problems. Until I asked the Weaving yahoo list. Sure enough, there were several messages and people use all kinds of things. From blind slats to dog food brown paper bags! The one that really did the trick was 23 cent 1/8" dowels!
See:

The warp does not warp and

the woven cloth does not get permanent design elements from the beam cords!

And the enhanced weaving abacus with colored beads for more complex drafts:

Gotta love it!

I'm in awe of your weaving! Great fix for your problem. I love it when it works out that way :-)

That bead idea is absolutely brilliant?
