Grandma's Vest

Many years ago, 1982 to be exact, I knit a vest for my grandma, my dad's mom. I was in med school, endless nights of studying, loads of coffee and taking turns with my friends reading and learning. While I listened I knit, and knit and knit. I had forgotten about the vest until I went to Colombia in January and she was wearing it! Good thing is that the yarn "100% made in Colombia" has not faded or pilled. I love this yarn and have used kilo after kilo of it over the years. Two days prior to my return, my grandma came up to me and said: "I love this vest, I wear it all the time, too bad that I will never wear anything else made by you" I replied: 'you might be wrong, I will knit another vest for you". Right after I came back finished the Hidcote Garden Shawl, and on the needles went the vest. I used the same type of yarn and designed it. Here is the result. It will go to Colombia via Global Priority Mail. It might take it a month or so to get there, but my grandma will have her new vest.

Laritza, it's beautiful! All I knit for my mom is hats and socks, but I think she appreciates them.
